SJA Notes

* God Almighty, You made the heavens.

“Say among the nations, ‘The LORD reigns!’ Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.'”

People need to know about God from His people. People need to hear that the Lord is king, the ruler of everything!

It can be hard to imagine these conversations with our neighbours, with unbelieving friends and family, and certainly the public square is a very prickly place to be proclaiming God’s sovereignty, His wonder and majesty.

People will laugh at the idea of God as their King.

Some people will spit with contempt at the folly of God as their creator.

And folk will certainly rise up in anger at the presumption of God as their judge.

But what is that to us?

This is the Lord whose lightnings light up the world! The mountains melt like wax before Him!

He _will_ judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples in His faithfulness.

So what else have we to do but obey His word and proclaim Him as king to the nations.

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.”

* Gracious God Above,

You are great and greatly to be praised.

You are worthy of our praise. You alone.

Please help us to tell people about You, regardless of the fear of their response. Because You are God, noone else. You have called us to tell people about You.

Please help us to do this.

Amen.
