SAA Notes

Gamaliel is the Apostle Paul’s Pharisaic teacher. God uses him to protect the Apostles from the fury of the Sanhedrin. Peter (v.29) had learnt Jesus’ lesson to the Pharisees: “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s”. Matthew 22:17

SJA Notes

* Saviour God, please help us to trust You in such a way that we might be able to rejoice in sufferings that come from being Your people.

“Then they left the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the name.”

Look at this joy in suffering!

These Jesus followers – They were fearless in proclaiming that people must be saved, that Jesus is the only way, that a life apart from God is without hope!

And they suffered for it.

It is a wonderful strong-and-pointy encouragement to us, to pursue God’s holiness in our lives.

Do we point people to Jesus?

“And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.”

We can be like these apostles. We can teach and preach that Jesus is the one and only Saviour, that all must look to Him to be saved.

*  Lord God,

Please help us Lord – Mark us as a people that earnestly desires (and acts) to tell people about Jesus, about Your salvation plan through Him.

About the true and present joy that life with You brings in the _now_, and the deep and abiding hope in the _not yet_.

Thank You Lord!

Amen.
