There are fifteen mentions of “chambers” in this passage today. Rooms.
As Stuart Snr points to, in John 14 Jesus says, “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms.”
Ezekiel was writing to the exiles. His temple plan was an encouragement for them as it is for us, and layered upon Ezekiel are Jesus’ words.
What is our hope?
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
That is our hope! To be with Jesus in His Father’s house! The blessed joining, heaven and earth remade, His people built as a temple, living stones!
* Gracious Father,
Thank You for the visions and truths You gave to Ezekiel. Thank You that his temple is an encouragement to us today as it was to Your people back then.
Thank You for the hope that we have, the hope of glory. To be with You, to be gathered up by the Good Shepherd and taken into Your house.
