SAA Notes

The importance of the 40 years (29:13) is that God promises to treat Egypt as He treated Israel. The period of their judgment is finite. God will use it to destroy their pride. It is no co-incidence that the Church in Egypt is a lowly church in terms of the world’s power and influence – a clay pot that holds the Treasure.

SJA Notes

* Mighty God, please show us Jesus today from Your word.

“Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

As with Israel, God’s people, so with Egypt. A nation that was not called as Israel were.

God’s intent in the old and the new testaments is clear, in His judgement and His mercy,

“Then they will know that I am the LORD.”

Jesus’ death (JUDGEMENT and MERCY bound up in one) are to be the same for us.

Our Lord the Son of God on the cross, becoming curse, taking the punishment from the Father for our sin, bringing mercy to all those who believe in Him and on His Name.

Hallelujah, what a Saviour we have!

That we can KNOW THE LORD.

* Merciful Father,

Thank You that in Jesus we can _know_ You.

What a blessing, a privilege, a wonder this is.

Thank You Lord, God of mercy and grace.

Amen.
