Verses 2:8-10 are a theme song for both the New and Old Testaments. They are excellent verses to memorize. Meditate on verses 1:22,23 and on the thought that we His Church are the fullness of Christ.
Here is a passage with so much of God’s love and grace and mercy!
It is wonderful how Paul writes these great long sentences, comma after comma, layering over and over, stepping through each segment of God’s amazing faithful work and intent.
Here we have,
“For by grace you have been saved through faith.”
There are not many other verses that say so much within so few words. And how thankful we can be for this verse, and for those around it.
“And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
This is so critical. So important. May we never be caught up in fabricated man-wisdom to believe that we could be the author of our faith, or even have any part in it. Even a little part in it.
We are HIS workmanship.
Created in CHRIST JESUS!
It is all of Him, and none of us. We are not to count anything we create as pride for us – But only and always to point to Him, to give Him the glory, to hallow and lift up and bear well His name.
* Oh God, full of grace and mercy,
Please embed within us Your word.
Please help us to lift high Your name, for we are Your workmanship.
Please help us to walk in the good works that You have created and prepared for us beforehand.
We love You, God above.
Please hear our prayer.
