SAA Notes

These four prophecies or oracles testify that the Lord God is the One who decides the future of the nations. No nation by its great military or technological power, can withstand the effects within its own midst of its own sins.

SJA Notes

* Mighty God, Your word is a light to our path. Please show us what You want for us today.

“The LORD of hosts has revealed himself in my ears: ‘Surely this iniquity will not be atoned for you until you die,’ says the Lord GOD of hosts.”

This is both a terrible and a wonderful word.

Terrible because God is fully JUST.

We cannot get around God’s justice. We cannot run around it, think ourselves out of it, we cannot strong-arm it or ignore it (in the end).

Atonement is an important word, it carries weight.

And a big question is, “How do we atone for our wrong-doing?”

The answer is – We cannot.

We cannot _DO_ anything, no enough prayers, not enough good deeds, not enough money given or blood shed.

What hope do we have then?

Paul tells us in Ephesians 2,

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you have been saved – …”

This is the wonderful word – Jesus atoned for us, we are made alive in Him!

BY GRACE WE HAVE BEEN SAVED!

And what is grace but getting what we do not deserve.

* God of all grace,

Thank You that You give us what we do not deserve – We praise Your Name!

Thank You for Your mercy Lord, that You made it possible for us to have our sins atoned for.

Please show us Jesus today.

Amen.
