SJA Notes

* God Above, thank You for this day, and for Your word to us. May we be receptive to what You have to say.

“This ‘knowledge’ puffs up, but love builds up.”

Knowledge is not greater than love, and it does not come before (have precedence over) love.

Our knowledge does not cover over a multitude of wrong. That is love.

Our knowledge does not save us. That is love, God’s love seen in Jesus. God’s love at work in us now.

As Paul says, he would rather put away the freedom his knowledge gives him for the protection and edification of another believer.

“But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.”

If any knowledge matters, it is first that GOD KNOWS US. To be KNOWN by God. True for those who love God – Now this is a thing!

Let us wrestle with what this means for us today.

* Gracious Father in Heaven,

Please remind us of Your steadfast love and faithfulness.

Thank You that for those who love You we are KNOWN BY YOU.

What a wonder this is, that the Creator God would know us!

Please fix our eyes on You this day.

Amen.
