SAA Notes

Jesus and Simon obviously know one another. John’s Gospel tells us that Simon and Andrew were disciples of John the Baptist –a first cousin of Jesus. Simon and the leper both had needed to be made clean. Meditate on Jesus’ words in verse 13.

SJA Notes

* Dear God, thank You for this Your word to us today.

“And when they had done this, they enclosed a large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.”

Oh that we would see a harvest such as this, to pray and long for it, to plead with our God for a revival such that the trellis bows asunder from the weight of the vine!

Because it is Jesus that continues to build His church, our Almighty God that brings His Will to bear on creation.

So whether our nets are strained to breaking, our ships loaded down to nearly sinking – This is not a frailty that leads to failure. No.

Souls being won for the Lord! Dead hearts made alive, new life breathed into dry bones!

* Lord God,

Please revive us Lord. Those around us, our loved ones, our friends and family.

Please revive us Lord. Prepare us Your people for a harvest.

Please revive us Lord. Call with irresistible grace the lost sheep, restore them as You have restored us.

Oh Lord, this we pray!

Amen.
