SAA Notes

The Tabernacle was set up and it and its contents together with Aaron and his sons (after being washed with water – pouring or sprinkling) were anointed with oil. The anointing of the Spirit follows Moses’ anointing – the Glory covers the Tabernacle and fills it. The priest is the Anointed/Christ/Messiah of the Lord. The priestly work precedes that of the King. This is the pattern of Jesus’ ministry. He accomplished His priestly ministry at Calvary. When He returns, it shall be as King of Kings!

SJA Notes

* God of steadfast love and faithfulness, thank You for Your Spirit that lives with us Your people, writing Your word on our hearts.

“Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.”

God came down from heaven to earth and His glory filled the meeting place that Moses and those working on it had completed (all according to God’s instruction).

God met with man!

We read of a similar even in 2 Chronicles ch 7 where Solomon has finished building the temple in Jerusalem,

“As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.”

God came down from heaven to earth, His footstool, and His glory filled the temple (meeting place).

God met with man!

We see this occur in a most important way with Jesus. God become flesh, dwelling among us, teaching and proclaiming the good news (God meeting with man).

But Jesus ascended into heaven two thousand years ago.

Praise God that He has sent His Holy Spirit to dwell within us, living stones, little tabernacles!

God come down from heaven, in the Person of the Spirit, living within us, teach us, writing His word on our hearts, guiding us, protecting us.

God met with man!

And how much then we look forward to the final and complete fulfilment of God meeting with us, in glory. He God dwelling with us His people in the new heavens and the new earth.

Hallelujah, what a Saviour!

* Dear God,

Please remind us of how You work within us today, Your Spirit dwelling in us Your people.

Amen.
