Jehu is anointed by God’s prophet. Jehu is God’s Christ to bring Israel back to Himself. Jehu kills Joram, Ahaziah and Jezebel. Israel’s redemption is not accomplished! Jehu is another Saul. Israel needed another Saviour! Read Ezekiel 22:30.

* God Almighty, put false ways far from us, graciously teach us Your law!
“For the whole house of Ahab shall perish, and I will cut off from Ahab every male, bond or free, in Israel.”
This is a bloody end to Ahab’s family.
It is interesting then to think on what it means for a line to be cut off. A curse on an entire lineage.
We can think of Adam, and the curse of sin that came through Adam (1 Cor 15:21-22).
Mankind’s entire linage is cursed!
But we have the second Adam, the last Adam: Jesus (1 Cor 15) – Through Him this curse is reversed, the penalty taken away.
This is the good news!
That in Jesus we are no longer cut off from God. He has made us alive together with Him (Ephesians 2).
Hallelujah, what a Saviour!

Thank You that though we deserve to perish for our sins, thank You for taking them away in the work of Your Son, our Lord and Saviour.
Please give us opportunity and energy to point those around us to You.
May they see Jesus!
