Life was hard, so hard that a group of Jewish Christians was thinking of abandoning Christ and returning to Judaism. What truths are expressed here about Christ? First Century Jews thought highly of angels.

* God of Righteousness, please teach us from Your word today.
“After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.”
What an opening this is.
We have seen throughout God’s word that Jesus is the center, the crux, the cornerstone and capstone, beginning and end.
This passage today makes clear that Jesus is God.
Not just “a song of God”, not just “a better being than angels” – but GOD HIMSELF.
There are groups who have twisted and turned this passage, trying to fit God’s word into their own mindset, their own man-made understanding.
We can be encouraged that in this passage we see the truth of Jesus – God in the Person of the Son, one member of the Trinity. One God. Three Persons.
He is the radiance of God’s glory. The exact imprint of His nature.
Jesus keeps the universe spinning with His power, with the WORD of His power!
This is not some lower-case god, some celestial being.
This, Jesus, is GOD HIMSELF!

Thank You for Jesus, who became flesh for our sake.
Thank You that though He was God, He humbled Himself for our sake.
Thank You that He became curse, for our sake.
Please help us walk under Your will for us today.
