SAA Notes

Jesus could not be trapped. Who is this man? That is what we’re meant to think – and not try to trick Him ourselves with halfhearted, lukewarm devotion. Doesn’t the widow’s gift still challenge your heart and mine?

SJA Notes

* God Almighty, Please show us a little more of who You are today.

“Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

How do we give thanks to our God?

What is the nature, the outworking, of our faith in our Saviour?

True heart religion is what the poor widow shows us from Jesus’ words to us today.

“… But she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

When giving back to God, it is not the quantity of much or little that is given – BUT THE SPIRIT IN WHICH it is given.

Our God has saved us from the just penalty for our sin (hellfire).

Our God has given to us eternal life through Jesus (God the Son).

Our God has sent His Spirit to grow and sustain us on this narrow road to glory.

Our God first loved us.

Are we thankful?

How do we give thanks to our God?

* Father In Heaven,

Please teach us more today of what it means to be thankful.

For You are a generous God – Please help us give back to You from what You have already given to us. Time, means, energy, material possessions, earthly gain.

Thank YOU Lord!

Amen.
