SAA Notes

Verse 2 is a hard verse. Faith does not magic us out of the difficulties and sorrows of life, but gives us direction and strength to come through. Meditate on verses 19-27 and what it says about our mouths.

SJA Notes

* Holy God, thank You for giving us Your word to us.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”

No doubting!

When we petition God for wisdom and the other good things He gives – We are to ask in faith and not to doubt that God can give us those things.

But. This can be very hard to do well.

We often get lost in maybes and might-haves.

James very clearly exhorts us.

Ask in faith. With no doubting.

Let us do this now.

* Gracious Heavenly Father,

Please grant to us Your wisdom.

Please write Your word, the fear of the Lord, a holy reverence for Your Name – Please write them on our hearts, that we might be wise and not sin against You.

We believe Lord, help us in our unbelief!

Amen.
