SAA Notes

The Levites had to tithe the tithe they received from the people. Ministers and missionaries and all in some full-time Christian mission work should all tithe their income too. Tithing is not just for ordinary members – it’s for everyone!

SJA Notes

* Dear God, do not forsake us! Be not far from us, make haste to help us O Lord – You are our salvation!

“And the LORD said to Aaron, ‘You shall have no inheritance in their land, neither shall you have any portion among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the people of Israel.'”

This is a truth for all who believe in Jesus.

The Lord is our portion and inheritance as we walk through this life.

We do not have a specific earthly place (the whole earth is the Lord’s).

We do not think about our inheritance in terms of a land here on this earth to call our own.

Instead we have God in the Person of the Spirit with us now, the deposit for what is to come (2 Corinthians 1).

And what is to come? Eternal life, our inheritance!

God is our portion and our inheritance, in the _now_ but also in the _not yet_.

The wonderful reality we hold onto (our strong hope) that God will be with us and we will be His people in full communion. No more sin, no more tears or earthly travail.

What a day to look forward to!

* Gracious Lord God,

Thank You for the hope we have in glory, our inheritance that You have guaranteed – Life with You forever.

Thank You for Your presence now, abiding in us now.

Please write Your word on our hearts today.

Amen.
