Jesus’ authority was not just over the demonic – He also had authority over death and over illness. These miracles bear testimony as to who Jesus truly is – the Christ of the Living God! What hopes does this passage inspire in your heart?

* God Almighty, please write Your word upon our hearts today, plant it deep within us and grow it, that we might be good soil and bear much fruit.
“My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she made be made well and live.”
Here is the faith of Jairus, a ruler of the Jewish synagogue.
He had faith that Jesus WAS the Lord’s Christ, the message of both Jew and Gentile – The lamb who takes away the sin of the world.
Faith that Jesus could heal his daughter, even from death.
We know from God’s word that death had no hold over Jesus, that He had the power of an indestructible life, that He rose again on the third day.
In today’s passage we see the faith of a Jewish rule, a faith in Jesus (who many of the rules rejected and hated and eventually put Him on the cross), we see his faith is in the TRUE SAVIOUR.
Jesus is the only saviour who can solve our big problem – death.
What good news this is!
Let us tell people about this good news today!
* Father God in Heaven,
Thank You for Jesus, the Lamb who takes away our sin.
Thank You for the example of Jairus, may we have the same faith in You as he did.
Thank You that we can trust in You.
Please help us walk in obedience under Your will for us today and onwards.
