SJA Notes

* Mighty God in Heaven, please sink us in self today and raise us in You, that we would be Your people in spirit and in truth.

“I am the LORD.”

This is enough.

Look at how many times the Lord God makes this statement in today’s passage.

The Lord delivers a rule and then there is this statement,

“I am the LORD.”

Sometimes we don’t like what God says. Sometimes we want to argue. Sometimes we want to escape from the responsibility of obedience.

Why should we do these things?

HE IS THE LORD.

That is enough.

Of course God has great wisdom and depth in His statutes, His laws and commands. He spun this creation into being with all the manifold workings, small and great. He spoke His word that holds depth every passage, layer after layer.

But first and foremost – “I am the LORD.”

That should be enough for us His people.

* God Above,

You are the LORD. We would praise Your Name today with our offerings of heartfelt obedience and acts of kindness and mercy.

Please help us point people to You today.

And help us wrestle with Your word to us, that You are the LORD – Your word is not like any other.

Amen.
