March 29, Reading 2 – Psalm 105

Audio, Visual

SAA Notes

This Psalm sees the mighty hand of God, not in Nature, but in the lives of men and women, specifically in that of the families of Israel. God redeems us to LIVE a resurrection quality life NOW! This is what the conclusion is all about.

SJA Notes

“He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, and gnats throughout their country.”

“He spoke, and the locusts came, young locusts without number,”

The psalmist is bringing to memory what God did in the time of rescuing His people out of Egypt.

But the psalmist is tying a foundation truth together here.

God speaks and creation listens and obeys!

From the very beginning (Genesis 1) we read,

“God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”

It is good to be reminded of what God’s word is in the manifold ways we are given to understand it.

God Himself is active as we read in this psalm.

“So he brought his people out with joy,”

Our God is alive and active, His word is alive and active! And Jesus, God in the person of the Son, is His word become flesh – Alive and active!

* God Above,

Your word is powerful and the absolute truth for us in our lives.

Your word is at work today.

Please write Your word on our hearts today that we might not sin against You.

Please plant Your word deep down in us and grow it, that we might be good soil and bear much fruit.
