SAA Notes

Amongst the many important issues and points raised in this passage, I would highlight this one: Jesus was forsaken by God the Father. He paid the penalty for my sin and yours. This is what the Bible calls the second death. (Revelation 2:11, 20:6,14, 21:8)

SJA Notes

* Loving God, You are the God who saves us, there is none like You.

“And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit.”

There is much depth in this verse alone.

To hear God in the Person of the Son, God’s word become flesh, cry out – to see him yield up His Spirit.

This must have been a voice loud like no other voice in time, before or since.

Because this is the POWER who is the energy by which creation came about _and_ the energy that continues to sustain creation.

Look at what happens in response to this voice, this yielding – Strange events, happenings that cannot be explained through a mortal lens.

This is our King.

Our King gave Himself up as a ransom for many, for us His people.

Praise God, what a Saviour He is!

* Dear God Above,

We praise You, for You have saved us from sin, the devil and death.

Thank You for Jesus, who died at Calvary to pay for our sin.

Hallelujah!

Amen.
