February 12, Reading 2 – Psalm 31

Audio, Visual

SAA Notes

Passion and pathos mark the psalms. The whole range of human emotions can be found in them as people like David responded to God in the midst of joy or great suffering. Take the psalms as a pattern for your prayers.

SJA Notes

The wonderful nature of our relationship with God.

He is not a worthless idol! (v6)

Instead, David shows over and over, layer upon layer, of how God is real and active, His love steadfast and His faithfulness forever.

This is our God!

He is active in our lives. He rescues us speedily. He is our rock of refuge, a strong fortress.

This psalm is a deep treasure trove of godly behaviour and doctrine.

May the Lord open our eyes today and onwards, day by day, year upon year, as we continue to prayerfully read and dwell on His word.
