SAA Notes

Passion and pathos mark the psalms. The whole range of human emotions can be found in them as people like David responded to God in the midst of joy or great suffering. Take the psalms as a pattern for your prayers.

SJA Notes

* Dear God, may we follow You today.

“But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors!”

Here is a psalm full of good doctrine and patterns of godly behaviour.

David shows over and over, layer upon layer, how our God is real and active. His love is steadfast and His faithfulness forever – This is our God!

He is active in our lives. He rescues us, He is our rock and refuge, a strong fortress.

What else have we to do but cast ourselves at His feet and testify of our trust in Him.

Our times are in His hand!

* God Above,

Please open our eyes today and each day onwards to see the truth of who You are.

Please help us to trust in You a little more today as You continue to teach us of Yourself and of our desperate need for You.

Amen.
