SAA Notes

This is the great high priestly prayer of Jesus. He prays for Himself, for His disciples and for all throughout all ages who believe in Jesus through their message. Find two things that stand out in today’s reading that encourage you and strengthen you faith.

SJA Notes

* Gracious Father in Heaven, please we would see Jesus today.

“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.”

Here is a big deep truth for us to work through.

We are made holy and grown and nurtured by the Holy Spirit IN THE TRUTH.

Jesus prays this wonderful High-Priestly prayer for us His people.

He calls out that we are sanctified in the truth.

What is truth?

(as we read Pilot asking Jesus not long after this prayer)

Jesus gives us the answer.

God’s word, become flesh in Jesus – God’s word IS TRUTH!

Do not be tempted by the world to water down this truth, tempted that we might be able to find truth in other places, or that God’s word some truth but is not everything.

God’s word is truth.

Full-stop. No movement or shifting. No variation.

God’s word is truth.

Let us chew this over.. Reflect on what it means for us in our lives, as we practice being holy.

God’s word is truth – Hallelujah for that!

* God Above,

Thank You for Your word, that it is truth.

Thank You for Jesus, You in the Person of the Son, who came down to earth, Your word become flesh.

Thank You Lord!

Amen.
