SAA Notes

The Day of the Lord is one of the great themes of the Bible. That Day will culminate with Christ’s return. In that Day, Egypt and Assyria will turn to their Saviour and Defender. The Middle East is destined to follow Christ! Today Assyrians are mostly Christian.

SJA Notes

* Loving Father, please show us Your wisdom today from Your word.

“In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, ‘Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.'”

A passage such as this shows us God’s intent for all nations of the earth to be blessed through Abraham.

Here we have Egypt, who were blessed by God through Joseph.

Egypt, who generations later enslaved Israel and worked them to the bone.

Egypt, who refused God’s direction and were punished severely in God rescuing His people.

And here we have Assyria, that great nation like locusts who invaded and took away the majority of the northern tribes of Israel.

Assyria, who polluted the northern lands of Israel with many other conquered nations, people who worshipped other gods.

And yet God calls them, and they answer (both through history and on the final day).

On that final day we will see folk from Egypt and Assyria, joining with us from all nations across the earth and throughout the span of creation).

What a wonderful thing this is!

* God Above,

You call Your people from all nations, we praise Your Name!

You have saved us Lord even though we were all enemies of You. Thank You!

Please help us point others to You today.

Amen.
