The covenant sign is given years after God’s covenant. We are never to confuse the covenant sign with the reality of the covenant relationship between God and us. The sign follows the reality of the relationship, so too with the New Covenant sign of baptism.

* Almighty God, Your word to us is life and health. Please feed us with the bread of life today.
“And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.”
God covenants with man.
Here is that wonderful promise of God with us, He our God, we His people – Children of Abraham.
We read in the new testament book of Galatians (ch 3),
“If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
This is a promise from God for us!
Our God’s promises are true, His faithfulness is sure and without end.
Hallelujah!
* Dear God enthroned in Heaven,
Thank You for the promise You gave to Abraham and to Your people.
Thank You that because of Jesus we are heirs of this promise, offspring of Abraham through faith.
Thank You Lord!
