SAA Notes

Run your life to win the crown that never perishes! God grant us Christ and His power, so that our running will not be in vain! Paul runs straight on into warnings from Scripture about taking spiritual things lightly.

SJA Notes

Chapter 10 verse 13 is a wonderful strong and deep verse to write on our hearts. This portion provides us much comfort as we endure trials and tribulations, temptations and whisperings of the world.

And how awesome then is Paul’s next sentence. He wraps everything up, in a single line.

“Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.”

Because our first and primary reality is GOD, His relationship with us, our relationship with Him.

What is the first commandment? Have no other Gods but ME (God).

What is the first part of the summed up commandments from Jesus’ lips? Love the Lord your God with all your heart.

He is the crux, the source, the primary key.

And so the core issue with have is rejecting Him for something else. Idolatry.

Let’s be convicted by Paul’s words here.

“Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.”

* Gracious Lord,

May our hearts be true today. May our eyes fix on Jesus. May our minds be bound to Your word.

You and You only.

Please help us to be singular in our devotion, each moment of each day. Today and onwards Lord.
