SAA Notes

Do you need more faith? Jesus says you only need a mustard seed size faith – miniscule. The important point is not the amount, but the reality! What lesson is there for you in the story about the Samaritan?

SJA Notes

* Dear God, show us Your truth today please Mighty God.

“So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'”

This is a hard word, a strange word from many ways of thinking.

What is Jesus saying, that we should not be rewarded for our obedience?

That’s the problem isn’t it.

MOTIVATION.

God has saved us, and so we do what He tells us (because we love Him, not because of reward).

We have been rewarded, and we have our great hope – An inheritance like no other.

We do not earn that inheritance.

What is our motivation for our obedience?

Jesus says in John 14,

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

Let our obedience come forth from our love (for Him who first loved us).

* Father God,

Your word to us is important and powerful for our lives today and each day.

Please help us to know You better, to understand the depths of love You went to for us – That we might show our love for You in doing what You tell us.

Amen.
