Gospel doctrine is the pattern for sound teaching. Teaching must be allied with faith in and love for the Lord. Why? What verse speaks to your heart today?

* Dear God, how marvellous is Your Name. Thank You for this day, and for Your word to us today.
“But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that day what has been entrusted to me.”
How can we combat the temptation to be ashamed of Jesus, of faith in Him, when the world points to us and laughs?
Paul gives us the answer.
What has been entrusted to us but the inheritance given from the Father through the work of the Son delivered by the Holy Spirit? ETERNAL LIFE!
When do we get this inheritance? NOT YET (BUT ON A DAY COMING)!
Who is looking after our inheritance? GO DIS!
Can I trust and be convinced then that God can do this? YES, HIS CHARACTER IS SEEN IN HIS WORD AND IN OUR LIVES!
How do we resist the temptation to be ashamed of Jesus?
Know God. Know His promises to us. Trust that He is willing and able, intentional and powerful, to keep those promises.
* Father God,
Thank You that we can point people to You, to Jesus, without fear.
Thank You that we can be convinced that You are guarding the inheritance You have given to us until that day when Jesus returns.
Thank You Lord!
