SAA Notes

God’s Never Again (v.8), is brought about by the King entering Jerusalem riding on the colt of a donkey. Zechariah has much to say about the Passion Week — viz. the blood of My covenant with you.

SJA Notes

* Dear God, thank You this morning for Your word become flesh, You in the person of the Son, our King Jesus, salvation to mankind, You with us!

“Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he,”

This is the message of Christmas.

Our King has come to us, Immanuel – God with us!

This is the thread of Zechariah, God’s jealousy and zelousness for zion, the city of God, us His people.

How can we, sinners by state and intent, be the people of a God who is completely righteous and holy?

This is the message of Christmas.

Our King coming to us – He our King, we His people.

How good a day of remembering our King this is.

To remember that He came to earth a first time to bring salvation from sin.

To remember that He will return a second and last time to bring about the full completion of all God’s promises, the final and true resolution of what is revealed in scripture.

This is our God, this is our King, this is our Saviour!

* God of mercy and grace,

Thank You that You give to us what we do not deserve, salvation from our sin.

Thank You that You do not give to us that which we do deserve, justice for our sin.

Thank You that we see this clear and bold in Jesus being born here on earth.

Immanuel, You with us!

Amen.
