SAA Notes

The Jews treated Jesus as if He were an Achan to stone, and not His namesake Joshua. Read Joshua 7. How do you treat Him? Notice that the claim of the divinity of Jesus is no second century addition by the Christian Church. The first century Jews understood that Jesus was claiming to be God!

SJA Notes

“I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.”

Oh the tender mercies and steady hopes wrapped up and layered over in these words from our King Jesus.

The giver of life, the master of our fates, the guardian of our souls.

But too, we can turn our minds on the word “perish”, and flip the coin.

Outside of Jesus – PERISH.

This is a hard truth, because without Jesus there is no hope. No life. No safety. Taken by the Devil and his demons, damnation without end – The terrible reality of being an unbeliever.

This is to be an exhortation to us, for those around us – Our loved ones, our friends and family, those we meet throughout our lives – To witness Jesus to them.

That He gives eternal life, and the only other alternative is to perish forever.

May hearts be broken before Him and eyes be opened to His love!

* Father God,

Please save our loved ones who do not know You.

Please break their hard hearts and put to flight their stubborn hearts.

Please give them a new heart and a new spirit, that they would be born again in You.

Please O Lord God.

Amen.
