Worthy of His calling! This is a challenging description of the Christian. Who should you pray for regarding this, as Paul prayed for the Thessalonians?

SJA Notes

“… So that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him,”

Here is a wonderful deep truth.

That in God making us worthy of His calling, fulfilling every resolve for good and every work of faith by His power – In this, Jesus’ name is glorified in us!

And more, that we are glorified in Him!

That we can both be a vehicle of glorifying the name of Jesus and that in Him we ourselves are glorified in Him (and only in Him), this is a wonderful hope and driving intent.

* Lord God,

May Your Name be lifted up, may we bear it well.

Thank You that through Your work in us, the name of Jesus is glorified in us. And thank You that as that is true, so we are glorified in Him.

Help us to wrestle with this Lord, to work it out in our lives, the impact of these wonderful truths.

Amen.
