SAA Notes

Amos lived some 800 years before Christ. Believers and unbelievers all must give account of the things done in this life. Notice the sins of Judah and Israel. Do you see any similarity between believers’ sins then and now?

SJA Notes

* Dear God, please open our hearts to hear Your word today.

“The LORD roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem;”

Amos takes up a similar refrain and direction as we read in Joel not long past,

“The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem,”

God’s character is clear and evident here.

Our Lord God is not a feeble being, He is not of weak character or frail strength.

This is the Lion of Judah (see Revelation 5), the King of Kings and Lord of Lords – And He ROARS.

God’s voice is of incredible unimaginable power. Read Psalm 29, it’s a few verses that contain much depth in this regard.

And God’s voice calls us.

He calls you if you are lost and lonely, if you are broken and in despair. He calls you if you are mired in sin or if you are bound up in pride and arrogance.

He calls us if we are foolish or if we are wise.

God’s voice thunders, and we should listen.

Because if we don’t listen now, with His word here to hear – Then on that last day His voice will roar and it will be too late.

* Gracious Lord and Saviour,

Please save those around us, please call them, please draw them to You – That they would repent and believe.

Please for all of us, please continue to call out to us, to draw us closer and closer to You each day.

Please Lord God – We would know You better today.

Amen.
