SAA Notes
Moses and Elijah talk with Jesus about His death. Jesus then tells His disciples. Jesus is a clear communicator. What is needed besides clear communication for someone to understand the Gospel? Look for lessons in life on the greatness of God!
SJA Notes
* Holy God, please open our ears to hear Your word today, may our hearts be good soil for the seed to grow!
“Let these words sink into your ears; The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.”
Jesus was telling His disciples that He would be become the lamb slain from before the foundation of the world.
The disciples didn’t understand, at that time.
How could the LORD (Y-H-W-H) be delivered into the hands of men?
How could the Messiah, the Lord’s Christ in truth, long-prophesied of, greater Son of the great warrior king David – How could this Son of Man be taken by mere mortal humanity?
But Jesus was delivered into the hands of men. He went to the cross, enduring pain and heartache that we (His people) never have to face (because of Him, His work, His sacrifice, bringing salvation).
This is the message of the gospel.
That the all-powerful God would set foot here in a broken world and let Himself be taken captive and murdered so that His love would bring the lost sheep home.
Hallelujah, what a Saviour!
* Lord God,
Thank You for Jesus, for Your love that we see shining through Him.
Please remind us each day of Your love Lord God.
May we see Jesus, each day.
Amen.
