SAA Notes

It is tragic, but this is how some people respond to the Gospel – by asking Jesus to go away from them. Jesus leaves His witness – one of the healed demoniacs (Luke 8:38,39). Many in Australia have asked Jesus to leave. He has left us here for His witnesses.

SJA Notes

See how clearly Jesus links the idea of “mercy not sacrifice” with calling not “righteous” people but sinners.

God desires mercy in us – And why not, after such mercy He has shown us!

What have we to be self-righteous about at the feet of Jesus, who became a curse for us, hung on a tree, because of our sin.

This is a warning and an encouragement to remember our place! Remember God’s place! What He has done!

He is the Creator. We are created.

He is the Saviour. We are those He saved (and who absolutely needed saving).

He is the King. We are His people.

Hallelujah, what a God we have!

* Father God,

Thank You for Your mercy. Us not getting what we do deserve.

Please continue to work within us Lord, that we would be shining lights in this world, showing forth the reality of Your mercy and grace.

Amen.
