SAA Notes

It is tragic, but this is how some people respond to the Gospel – by asking Jesus to go away from them. Jesus leaves His witness – one of the healed demoniacs (Luke 8:38,39). Many in Australia have asked Jesus to leave. He has left us here for His witnesses.

SJA Notes

* Dear Lord God, thank You for Your word to us today. Please help us see.

“Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

See how clear Jesus makes the link between mercy and sinners.

God desires mercy in us – And not out of nothing. We only have to consider the weight of the mercy He has shown us!

In this light what then do we have to be self-righteous about?

Especially as we sit at the feet of Jesus, Prince of Peace, the Righteous Man, who became curse for us, hung on a tree, taking the punishment that was ours.

That is mercy!

So we have both a warning and an encouragement to us – to remember!

God is the Creator. We are created.

God is the Saviour. We are sinners in need of His salvation (saved by His grace and through His mercy).

God is the King. We are His people.

Hallelujah, what a God we have!

* Father God,

Thank You for Your mercy – Giving to us what we do not deserve.

Please continue to work within us, that we would be shining lights in this world – Showing forth the reality and effect of Your mercy and grace.

Amen.
